Body System Support

Over the course of several years, I have had the opportunity to work with several essential oils and provide essential oil protocols for my clients.  Essential oils enhance my client’s overall experience and are incorporated from the moment you enter my health center.

The science behind the Scents – scents bypass the thalamus and go straight to the brain’s smell center, known as the olfactory bulb.  The olfactory bulb is directly connected to the amygdala and hippocampus, which might explain why the smell of something can so immediately trigger a detailed memory or even intense emotion | Discovery Science 2019

Memories occur when specific groups of neurons are reactivated. In the brain, any stimulus results in a particular pattern of neuronal activity—certain neurons become active in more or less a particular sequence | Queensland Brain Institute 2018

New research from an international team of scientists has demonstrated how odors evoke memories in the brain, in ways stronger than other senses. Using neuroimaging and intracranial electrophysiology, the research shows how olfactory pathways communicate directly with the hippocampus | New Atlas 2021

The term “aromatherapy” was coined by a French perfumer and chemist René-Maurice Gattefossé in a book he wrote on the topic that was published in 1937. He had previously discovered the healing potential of lavender in treating burns. The book discusses the use of essential oils in treating medical conditions | Healthline – Debra Rose Wilson, Ph.D., MSN, RN, IBCIC, AHN, BC, CHT  – March 8, 2019
